dieting while on steroids

What can I do to loose inches while toning?
I am 5′3″ and weight 229. I have been in very poor shape/ health due to having severe Lupus. I have been on large amounts of steroids for over 6 years and have packed on the pounds. To make things worse I was only permitted to walk 5 minutes a day 3x per week. A month and a half ago I think my Lupus had gone into remission for the first time and began to feel better and exercise. I am now 1.5 months into using my elliptical machine for 60 minutes 3-4 times a week (even able to tolerate resistance at a ten for 10 minutes at a time) and lifting weights for 1/2 hr 3-4 times a week. I am noticing a huge difference in muscle tone/strength and lost a size and a half, but have not lost a pound. I am feeling so much better and feeling alive for the first time in almost a decade but would like to see the scale move downward. I have been keeping a record of my measurements also. I do also watch my calories and have reduced my carbs, sugar, portions and overall diet.

the reason why you haven’t started losing weight is because you are replacing fat with muscle – and muscle weighs more than fat so keep that in mind, just stick to what your doing and don’t get discouraged I can guarantee that you will see results on the scale in about a week or 2.. but more importantly you are seeing physical results which is great

p.s. my dad has lupus and I see how much of a pain in the @ss it is to deal w/ it.. kudos to you for putting up w/ that, i could never do it
